What're We Up to Now?

 

 

May-August 2015

• Over the summer the team began mechanically testing the first hand dipped grafts

• We've began collecting data to prepare for colloquia in the fall

 

 

April 2015

• Team VESSEL begins electrospinning controls of PVP grafts.

• The team was also nominated for and won runner up for the UMD Library Research Award

 

 

 

March 2015 

• Team VESSEL starts lab work and degums the silk fibroin from the sericin in the silk cocoons and creates a solution to start the electrospinning process

 

 

 

February 2015

• Team VESSEL defended their proposal to fellow Gemstone studens and staff

 

 

 

October 2014

• Team VESSEL recieves our first batch of silk worm cocoons courtesy of connections made through David Kaplan at Tufts University
